Our Lady of Fatima Catholic School

Prospective Families

Our Lady of Fatima School would like to give you the opportunity to experience academic excellence in a faith filled environment.  When visiting the school, you will immediately feel the spirit and warmth that is a vital part of our Catholic school community.  We believe that you, the parents are the primary educators of your children, and we are the extension of those family values.  The small classroom size allows us to get to know your child as an individual and educate them academically, socially, and spiritually, at their level.

The following will give you a better idea of our academic and religion programs.  We follow the Pittsburgh Diocesan Guidelines to meet all objectives.  You are welcome to come in and review them or request grade levels by mail.

                                            Catechetics/Religious Formation

The Catholic Church recognizes parents/guardians as the primary educators of their children.  The role of the parish school is to supplement and complement the role of the parent.  In the school, a formal catechetical program is taught daily.  The Diocesan Catechetical Curriculum Guidelines, “Growing in God’s Covenant” contain a balance of doctrinal content, scriptural understanding, faith formation, prayer and worship experiences.

Goals and objectives are constant and consistent to enhance the spiritual formation and moral development of all students.  A genuine, personal relationship with God and the response of worship and service are ultimate goals of the religious instruction.  Liturgical and personal prayer are outcomes of the guidance and religious instruction provided. Opportunities for communal, as well as personal prayer are a daily priority.   Careful planning and programming ensure a broad and deep understanding of authentic Church Doctrine.  A variety of materials and resources are used to foster both spiritual growth and moral development.

We realize that the cost of Catholic Education is an important concern for you.  We do not want your child denied the opportunity to a Catholic Education because of financial need.  Therefore, we offer the following help.

·        You are asked to apply for Financial Aid through PSAS.  If eligible, you could possibly aid from two sources.  The BEF (Bishop Education Fund) is available to Catholics only, but the SOS (Scholastic Opportunity Scholarship) is for both Catholics and non-Catholics.

·        By applying for aid, you also become eligible for additional help through our school’s Angel Fund.

The billing for our tuition is handled through TMS (Tuition Management System).  However, we are very involved with his program.  We work with families experiencing difficulty and help them through any delinquencies.  The following are the tuition rates for 2008 – 2009

Parents who register a student in the school enter into a contractual obligation with the school.  The school is currently using the Tuition Management System to handle all tuition in grades K-8.  Preschool tuition is collected on a monthly basis through the school office.  Each family receives envelopes at the beginning of the year.  The current tuition is as follows:
