A 5K, two meets and goooood BBQOK, there has been a lot going on and not much updating. My apologies for not updating sooner... OK, the
5k After issuing my email challenge to the Athletic board I got all of 2 takers. Stephanie Lias and her dad Ed
showed up and ran the 5k with me. Running "with me" is a stretch as my gimpy knee pushed me waaaay behind
Steph and her Dad, but we did have tasty BBQ after the race We are starting to really show up at our meets. First on Friday we ran the St Titus'home meet on
a hot day at Hopewell Park. Teddy Homol about blew himself up, but was the first Fatima varsity boy across the finish
line. Stephanie Lias won a footrace with Ashley Mutkis to be the first overall varsity girl to finish making her 2 for
2 on the season. Overall we had a great showing. Monday September 8th we made the trek out to Ewing Park
in Elwood City for a meet put on by Holy Redeemer. Stephanie made it three overall wins in a row. She looks strong
at this point. I can't believe she's playing soccer at the same time she is running Cross Country. She
truly is "Mighty Mouse". Alex Hamilton was determined to avenge his loss to Ted Homol and was successful -
I can't wait to see those two go at it next time! This was our first try at a two mile course, and I'm
happy to say that everybody finished. There were kids who fell out of the race, but all of the green shirts crossed
the finish line. I couldn't be prouder. I've got pictures posted here
