First Meet

We have a unique opportunity here, as our first two meets will be at Hopewell Park.  Everybody should be familiar with the course.  This means that the more advanced runners should post good times and the newbie runners should not be intimidated by the course.  We've been running those trails all summer, so there should be a comfort level.

From this point forward practices will be on Wednesday nights at Hopewell Park, at 6:00.  If you look at our schedule, we mostly have meets on Mondays and Fridays, so Wednesday made sense.

Check back next week as I'll have pictures from our first meet, as well as photos from the Gatorade/Steeler 5k on Labor day.  My knee is still jacked up, but I'm still running.

Let's see if I can break 30 minutes.  The sad thing is that Stephanie will probably run it in half that time.

Lastly, check out this photo I found on the runner's world website.

Those are Brian Sell's shoes after he ran the marathon in Beijing.

He actually ran the first half of the marathon in a little over an hour, but faded badly over the second half and finished 22nd.

The moral of the story - If you don't want blisters....WEAR SOCKS!
